Information You Send Directly
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the provider that operates the resulting tool. Our servers do not retain a copy of those searches. If you contact us, we receive the content of your message and use it to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Like most hosted services, the site may receive ordinary server-log information such as an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and time of visit. We use aggregate information to maintain the service and understand general use. Cookies or comparable technology may support basic measurement and, where used, advertising measurement.
How We Use Information
Limited data is used to operate and secure the service, diagnose problems, measure broad traffic patterns, and improve the reference. We do not sell visitor lists or create an individual visitor profile from ordinary site use.
External Services and Links
Waynesboro Residents Directory links to public offices, archives, library collections, and outside search services. Each external destination applies its own privacy terms to information submitted there, including sponsored result providers. Virginia public-record custodians follow their own statutes and notices; this private policy does not control a City of Waynesboro, court, library, or state-agency record.
Service Providers
Hosting and support providers may process the technical information described above on our behalf. Analytics or advertising providers may receive the same automatic data when their services are active. We disclose information when required by valid legal process and otherwise only as described in this policy.
Safeguards and Retention
The service uses an encrypted connection. Logs are retained only for the operational purposes described here. Because visitors do not create accounts, the site does not maintain a visitor password or account profile for this reference.
Visitors Under 18
This service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us personal information, contact us so it can be removed.
Your Virginia Privacy Rights
The Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, Title 59.1, Chapter 53, including Va. Code §§59.1-571 et seq., gives covered consumers rights to confirm and access personal data, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, obtain a portable copy, and opt out of certain processing. Covered controllers must provide a secure request route and an appeal process. Because this service retains very little data, a request will ordinarily involve the contact message or applicable server logs. Use the Contact page to make a request.
Those rights do not compel a public custodian to delete an official record. Waynesboro city records are governed by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, Va. Code §§2.2-3700 et seq., and by any record-specific confidentiality or retention law. Direct a correction, amendment, or privacy question about a government record to the office that holds it.
Policy Changes
Any revision to this policy will appear here. Continued use after a revised version is posted indicates acceptance of that version.
